The British Ceramics Biennial (BCB) announces the call for entries for AWARD, inviting UK-based artists to submit proposals for this £10,000 prize and exhibition. AWARD is the headline exhibition in BCB, which celebrates its 10th anniversary in 2019 and provides a platform for some of the UK’s most talented artists working in clay. The next BCB festival will take place in Stoke-on-Trent from 28 September to 10 November 2019.
Up to 10 artists will be selected for AWARD, each receiving a grant of £500 towards the realisation of their exhibition proposal. To mark the 10th year of the British Ceramics Biennial, the prize money for AWARD has been doubled to £10,000 and will be awarded to one artist during the run of the festival. There will also be an opportunity for the winner to be involved in both selection process for AWARD 2021 and the subsequent BCB 2021 exhibition programme.
The 2019 AWARD judging panel will select a shortlist of artists whose primary medium is clay and whose work is based on the exploration of ceramic process; work submitted must be no more than three years old and it is anticipated that many of the artists will propose to make new work.
The closing date for entries is 6pm on Wednesday 5 December 2018. More information on AWARD and the application form can be found at: britishceramicsbiennial.com
